The mobile bar business is a rapidly growing business, however, it's still very new and ever-changing. We wanted to provide information to our website to answer the most frequently asked questions to help better navigate what your expectations are!
"Does Traveling Alchemist provide the alcohol?"
Traveling Alchemist does not provide alcohol, it is known as a "dry hire." In the state of Michigan, mobile bars can not obtain a liquor license. The event holder would provide the alcohol and Traveling Alchemist provides the rest.
"What do you charge for an event?"
Traveling Alchemist provides a base rate, the numbers are approximate and will vary based on event details. Additional costs will be discussed during the consultation.
"Can the Barrel Bar be rented without a bartender?"
Traveling Alchemist does not rent out the Barrel Bar.
"Are you an insured bartender?"
Yes, we carry liquor liability insurance.
"Are you a certified bartender?"
Yes, we are TIPS certified, which meets The Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) training requirements.
"Do I sign a contract?"
Yes, there will a contract sent out with a minimum deposit of $250, depending on what service is selected. That will secure the date for the event.
"What's the cancellation policy?"
A full refund will be issued if the event is cancelled 60 days in advance of the event date.
"What are the travel fees?"
Events outside of a 50 mile radius of 49734 will incur a $2/mile fee.
